Summer Reading Programs: We had 124 children register/participate in June. Attendance was pretty consistent throughout the summer.
Fair Event: Notes for next year, if we are outside again, plan for more people (300?) and make 2 lines to serve faster. Heat up all the meat before going to the park (we had problems keeping the roaster going).
Computers: Spoke with Andrew Sherman from the Library Commission about options for our computer/filtering software/security. He will be in contact with Allo as well. The computers were purchased in 2019 and are unable to update to Windows 11. We currently have 8 computers; 2 of those computers no longer work. Suggestion would be to do four new computers and one designated to the maker space, along with updating the office computer at the same time.
Shelving: Bid for shelving in the main area, $6,417.00. The other shelving bid was $3,673.00, but Peggy wants to check on the size to make sure that it is 30” and not 36” tall shelving. If number measurements can be 30”, then Peggy will order when confirmed.
Kanopy: Options: Pay per use: $1+1 ticket, some shows are more than 1 ticket. Estimated amount annually $400.00 per year but is based on usage. You can set a monthly budget and patrons will get a notice stating that streaming is limited at your library.
Kanopy for small libraries is $1,250 per year. You can try Kanopy for Small Libraries and change to Pay Per Use but not the other way around.
Present Proposed Budget – Peggy walked through the proposed budget. All were in agreement.
County Funding: Will send a report and see if they would like us to attend a meeting.
- Review policies/ none
- Radon Detector – updated policy (motion by Megan; seconded by Julie)
- Ideas and suggestions: After-school program conflicts
Discussion was had on the Fair event…Great turnout and great response!
Paying bills – some are being paid online and Peggy had to set up an account under her name. That will probably cause some troubles when and if Peggy ever leaves.
V. ADJOURN at 6:42pm (Motion by Megan; Seconded by Shelley)
Next Meeting: August 6th at 5:30pm
