LIED RANDOLPH PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING Meeting  August 6, 2025 Minutes

I. OPENING PROCEDURE

  1. Call to order
  2. Pursuant to the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

II. ROUTINE BUSINESS

  1. Roll Call: Shelley Crawford, Jeri Gubbels, Tiffany Guenther, Julie Pfanstiel, Peggy Leting

III. PUBLIC COMMENT

IV. REGULAR AGENDA

  1. Approve previous meetings minutes
  2. Review and approve claims/ received funds from Randolph Area Foundation ($700.00) to cover Lego kits for First Lego Leagues. 

Tiffany made a motion to accept reports, Julie seconded.  All were in favor.

Peggy attended the first budget meeting.

Peggy submitted information to Cedar County for funding.

We had 4 complete 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, Beckham and Emrey Rohde, Kate Janssen  and Hank Pfanstiel.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Story Hour on Monday Mornings @ 10:00
After-School Programs on Tuesdays with different grades each week.

Chess Club will be held twice a month with Katie coming in to help with that.

Owl Sage Game Club will meet on Mondays the rest of this month and will continue twice a month in October.

 Old Business:

Computers: Allo sent some suggestions and bids for computers.
Shelving is ordered and expected in October.  Will need to put our shelves up for sale.

New hire: Lisa Karnes will start on August 18th pending background check.

Little Free Library Book Grant has been applied for

  1. Review policies/ none
  2. Ideas and suggestions: Fall programming dates will be determined when we have information about the other activities for elementary age children.  Story hour will begin on Sept. 8th.
