Old Business:

The Youth Grant report that was due in September was extended to Dec. 1, so we can include actual numbers of children enrolled in Lego Robotics.  Peggy is serving on the Red Robotics board.  Practices will begin in October at the library on Monday nights.  We may struggle with space depending on how many children sign up.

Improvement Grant: The bike rack has been installed and was considerably less than the original one we priced for the grant.  I have contacted the commission to see if we could use the rest of the money for items for our Makerspace.  (There is about $2500 remaining, and Peggy would like to use it towards something to make medals, etc., like an XTool.  Also, mentioned solar lights for outside on the pathway.)

Computers are ordered and Andrew Sherman at the Nebraska Library Commission will install and update our network.  We should no longer need service from Allo.  Friends of the Library donated $4000.00 toward the cost.  There is a grant out there that if something is needed, it will cover needed things, but the Library Commission has taken care of it all!

Shelving may arrive in October.  We will need to decide what to do with the shelving we are replacing or if we can use it in a different way.

Rich Glines from Goodwill stopped in and reported that the truck that was here for the rummage sale took in 5,870 pounds.  It does sound like they would return if we do it again.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Story Hour on Monday Mornings @ 10:00
After-School Programs on Tuesdays with different grades each week.

Chess Club will be held twice a month with Katie coming in to help with that.

Owl Sage Game Club will meet on Mondays the rest of this month and will continue twice a month in October.

Becky and Peggy will be attending the two day MakerSpace Conference in Lincoln in November

  1. Review policies/ none:  Tiffany Guenther’s term will end in January.  If anyone can think of someone else, let Peggy know.  Peggy will talk to Tiffany, as the bylaws state “unless reinstated by the city council”.
